Based on 1,093 reviewsNEW Taihou is commonly praised for its flavorful and affordable ramen, appealing particularly to locals who value its authentic taste. The restaurant’s cozy atmosphere and friendly, attentive service receive consistent positive mention. Reviewers appreciate the customization options available for their ramen, especially the well-loved miso variant. Additionally, the lack of card payment means customers should bring cash. Overall, NEW Taihou is recognized as a hidden gem in Kyoto, offering a satisfying dining experience without long waits or tourist crowds.
Delicious ramen and delicious gyoza, no queue in the restaurant. We just walked in for food around 7 pm. Friendly staff and I think the restaurant serve mainly locals as I don't see many tourist come in the shop. The price is affordable and the restaurant is easy find
It was decent. The gyoza felt a little on the softer side and super oily. Ramen was also on the oiler side. Solid 4/5. It’s relatively affordable so that’s great.
Best Ramen we’ve had! Small and cozy restaurant, everyone should try their ramen! Lovely owner and waitress! Just go and you will not regret it!
I almost don’t want to post about this place because it is such a gem- my fav ramen spot in Kyoto. Broth is tasty and service is quick! Price is very affordable around 850 yen. Only a few seats so go during off time. Love the miso ramen!
Ramen was delicious!! Full of flavor, you can customize the level of ingredients! Make sure you bring some cash$$! Cards are not accepted!
A small restaurant thats perfect for a late afternoon meal. We got to Kyoto in the afternoon when most restaurants were on break. Fortunately this one was opened and near our hotel. When we arrived we were greeted warming by the staff and we ordered ramen, beef rice, and fried chicken. All were delicious. I would be back next time when I visit Kyoto. Btw, this place doesn’t take card, but they do cash and QR code payments (via wechat, alipay, unionpay, jcb etc. )
Excellent ramen, soupless noodles, and gyoza. This place has only communal seating, which was cool. The service was efficient and everyone was very kind. Highly recommend!
